Mountain biking & cycling in the Zillertal

Here you can enjoy biking just how you like it! Do you prefer flat valley routes for a family excursion, would you like to head higher up on panoramic trails, or would you like to tackle rather steep climbs? It is the variety of over 200 km of bike trails that make Gerlos and its surroundings so attractive for cyclists and mountain bikers.

Leisurely cycling

One of the easier routes leads into the Schönachtal to the south. Past vast meadows and beautiful valleys, this trail leads to the Issalm on relatively flat terrain.

Awaiting you here are majestic rockfalls and a view of the Schönach glacier, which towers high over the valley. This excursion into the Schönachtal covers 11 kilometers.

Biking routes on the mountain

Head out on a panoramic tour! To be more precise, the Arena Panoramatour 2, on which you will bike high up over 1,900 vertical meters and enjoy fantastic views far into the valley. You can easily avoid the strenuous ascent by taking the Isskogelbahn lift, which awaits you right around the corner. Above the tree line, it is only 10 kilometers slightly uphill until you come to the Kreuzwiesenalm. Here you can take a break, enjoy a snack, or start the descent via the Gerlosberg to Zell am Ziller. With a length of 24 kilometers, the route will take an entire afternoon.

Looking for a challenge?

Around Gerlos, there are black slopes among the biking routes. Would you like to put you and your bike to the test on steep climbs in the Zillertal Alps? Then the Arena Panoramatour 1, the ride to the viewing point at the Hirschbichlalm, or the ascent to the Isskogel are among the highlights. On such routes, you must conquer more than 1,000 vertical meters, but the journey is the destination and the Alpine world with its far-reaching views is reward enough.

If this isn't enough, you can venture out on the single trails in the Zillertal Arena! These lead along narrow serpentines, past obstacles, and through wooded areas - always pushing the limit, always action-packed!
